Half-Moon Gardens at the EV Charging Stations

What was once a patch of lawn surrounding two EV charging stations adjacent to Veterans Memorial Park is now a pair of thriving native pollinator gardens. In fall 2025, turf grass was removed and low stone retaining walls were installed to create two distinctive half-moon planting beds.

Volunteers then transformed the space with a diverse collection of native flowers and grasses that provide food and habitat for pollinators and other wildlife. Located in the heart of downtown Nyack, these gardens demonstrate how even small, highly visible spaces can contribute to a more connected and resilient landscape.
