Village Hall Pollinator Gardens

In spring 2026, the Nyack Pollinator Pathway partnered with the Village of Nyack to transform the landscape in front of Village Hall into a vibrant showcase of native pollinator habitat. Existing red gravel was removed from portions of the site, and the Department of Public Works improved the growing conditions by adding fresh soil and preparing the beds for planting.

Working with a mix of sunny and shaded conditions, volunteers installed a diverse collection of native perennials selected to thrive in each location. Existing plants in the shaded garden were thoughtfully incorporated into the new design, creating a cohesive landscape that balances ecological value with year-round beauty.

As one of the most visible public spaces in the community, the Village Hall gardens demonstrate how native plants can transform civic landscapes into thriving habitat for pollinators and wildlife. The project stands as a welcoming example of the Village’s commitment to creating a healthier, more resilient, and more beautiful community.
